Painted from 26th May to 26th June, 2011.

Size: 24 inches x 20 inches.

Acrylics on Canvas.

The wonderful cherry blossom comes out in spectacular glory in the middle of April. This is my tribute to it. I made a few alterations, very small, to the tree so I'm reuploading it.

I've probably said it before, but the way you work the brighter colours along with the darker tones is superb :)

I hope you don't mind me asking you a question in regard of canvas and acrylic :P
Do you think it is okay to paint on canvas that does not have Gesso on it? What would happen if i paint w/ acrylics on canvas without gesso? :)
sorry to bother you with my question  thank you in advanced

I'm glad you asked me something, it's no bother at all:)
I always work on canvases that are prepared, pre-primed and ready for paint. I never get canvas and then prime it with gesso or other primers. I wouldn't know how to do it! My guess Mona, is that Gesso would allow a smoother finish then if it wasn't used. But I usually get boards in artshops that are ready for painting, it makes life easier! Have you been using plain canvas boards up til now or what?

:D you are so kind  Thank you for responding dear
well you know I am just experimenting and learning at the same time, so the acrylic works i did so far were on Paper Canvas :) They have gesso on them and it is a paper canvas. Today I got a real canvas a big one to try ( it is prepared and has gesso on it ). But i saw an artwork and I don't know if the artist had gesso on it because you could see the color of the fabric through the paint ( she had painted lightly ) so it made me curious. I tried to google it and some people say the paint can crack if you don't use gesso over time and some people were saying it is okay. so i wanted to see if you have tried it.
