I re-did the lighthouse lighting to make it look more realistic.
Ballycotton pier and harbour is just 3 miles from where I live. Behind the pier are two islands, the taller one has a lighthouse which is the bright red light in the painting. The bright lights illuminating the pier were a satisfying contrast with the deep indigo of the sky. Indeed this is my favourite colour to depict a sky. The painting reminds me a bit of Van Gogh's 'Starry Night Over the Rhone': [link]
Wow, I love the reflection of the light in the water on this. It gives the piece a very unique, almost impressionistic look and texture. Really beautiful work.
oh this is really well done, the lighting that you did really does give it a more realistic feel. When i first glanced at it i didnt know it was canvas, but then when i saw that it was i thought it was very very good. I like it good job
